Pinnacle is saying F-off, claiming this rule below applies.
Should I continue to battle with them?

"General Rule #12: Multi-way betting is "ALL-IN": bets always have action unless a stipulation is added to the market that a certain competitor must start for action. If such a stipulation is included, then all bets on all competitors will be void if the stipulated competitor does not start in that specific event. "

BetMGM on the other hand is refunding:

Heard of any others? I imagine most would refund.

thanks!

They treated like they should have based on the rules. Reminds me of betting on horses to win the KY Derby that never make it to the race, if they don't run you lose.

In fairness to the book, if they refund scratches then they would have to adjust the odds on remaining teams. Like they do at the horse tracks (evidently not on futures)

Otherwise they're taking built-in losses

If a book cancels your bet, they're thinking the good publicity outweighs the losses

I think it makes sense from them NOT to refund money based exactly on Willie's point. They have factored all the teams when they made the odds. They can't readjust odds on bets that were already made. Some people will end up with a bargain and some won't. If Gonzaga bows out, everyone else has better value on their tickets.

I think this year is going to be a crap shoot. I am looking at teams in the 25-60 to 1 range. I opened up a small future so far on FSU at 40-1. I will pick a few more in this range strictly on a value standpoint.

no different than taking a futures on a golfer who doesn't play in the event. i had scottie scheffler ticket from this time last year on the 2020 US Open and he skipped event when he tested positive. I lost my wager and their rules justified it. I don't see how you can contest this?
